COVID-19 Information

COVID-19 presented an unprecedented challenge for patients, carers and health professionals in Australia. During the pandemic, aspects of palliative care delivery changed, though the goals of palliative care did not.

The Australian Government funded caring@home to develop resources to support the preparedness of palliative care service providers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The augmented caring@home package for carers, was developed for service providers, to not only provide patient-centred care, but also limit risks of community COVID-19 transmission.

The Augmented caring@home package for carers, included an Emergency COVID-19 pack (shown below) to support carers with short training videos and step-by-step guides about:

  • how to insert a subcutaneous cannula
  • how to give a subcutaneous injection.
If your service requires these resources to support families and carers in geographically-isolated locations, please contact caring@home
