AJGP focus on Community Palliative Care Medicines List

A new article has been published in the Australian Journal of General Practice (AJGP) that explores the development of, and provides information about, the National Core Community Palliative Care Medicines List. Co-authored by Paul Tait, Prof. Liz Reymond (Director of caring@home) and colleagues, "A National Core Community Palliative Care Medicines List for managing end-of-life symptoms" describes how a standardised list can support timely access to medicines and strengthen collaboration between prescribers and pharmacists.

Australians with life-limiting conditions can, with appropriate support, have a home death, if that is their choice. General practitioners (GPs) are essential for coordinating care and managing symptoms, and medicines must be quickly available in the terminal phase.
